AMERICA -- PRAY FOR HER

As we cruised the Puget Sound through sun, rain, fog, and even snow we flew our American flag.  It was the same one we flew from Seattle to the South Pacific.  But now it is tattered and torn.  We can no longer fly it.  The proper way to retire a flag is to either bury it or burn it.  If you don't wish to do the disposal yourself you can contact the Scouts or the American Legion and ask if they have a service.

Right now the United States is tattered and torn like our flag.  The best thing that we can do is to pray for her.  The National Day of prayer is Thursday, May 5.  The National Day of Prayer that we know today was founded in 1952, and it was a co-founded effort between the United States Congress and President Harry S. Truman. The holiday was signed into law by president Truman and every president since has signed a proclamation that encourages Americans to pray on and celebrate this day-- the first Thursday of May.

I Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
