WHAT IS TRUTH?

Does truth exist? Can truth be known?  These are interesting questions. Currently we are attending a Sunday School class entitled "Truth and the Pacific Northwest."  We learned that just because you believe something, doesn't make it true.  For many years people believed that the Earth was flat.  Of course later it was discovered that the Earth is an oblate spheroid.

Also, our daughter and son-in-law's pastor is preaching a series of sermons called "Skeptic."  This involves contemplating the questions --are science and faith compatible, the problem of evil, isn't Christianity anti-woman?, and is God intolerant? The pastor shows several videos of scientists who are Christians.  Dr. Francis Collins, director of the Human Genome Project, is featured in many You Tube videos where he gives his testimony. Above is a 3- minute video of  Collins. He relates that 40% of scientists believe in God-- who they believe is the Creator of the universe.

Our Creator gives us the privilege of seeking out His knowledge, wisdom, and discernment through prayer, study of the Word, and discovery.  Here is a blog about the new mini-series which reveals the lies told in Russia after the Chernobyl disaster.

WILL THERE BE PETS IN HEAVEN?

1940's Dave at Beaver

Will animals (our pets) be in Heaven? —  I really don’t know.  I have been studying the Bible for over 40  years and I haven’t gotten a clear answer.

In Isaiah 65 it says "24 And it shall come to pass that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith Jehovah.”

I believe this is referring to Jesus when He is reigning on Earth for 1000 years. I would say that because there are no tears in Heaven that those who loved their pets would have them in Heaven.  As a child I loved our pets—I didn’t have to clean up after them.  But as an adult I choose not to have any pets.  So if I could have pets and not clean up after them I would like to have pets in Heaven!
