EVERYONE DID WHAT WAS RIGHT IN HIS OWN EYES

A quick overview of the book of Judges

You may wonder why I have imbedded a you tube showing an overview of the book of Judges.  Well, years ago, as I was reading through the Bible, I was appalled that God had chosen Samson as one of His anointed Judges.  I asked my dad why God would choose someone like Samson.  He said he didn't know.

Well now I have just read "Joy: Poet, Seeker, and the Woman Who Captivated C.S. Lewis," by Abigail Santamaria.  You may know of and have read some of the books by C.S. Lewis.  He wrote:

The Chronicles of Narnia
Mere Christianity
The Allegory of Love
The Screwtape Letters
The Space Trilogy
Till We Have Faces
Surprised by Joy: The Shape of My Early Life

He became a Christian at the age of 31 in 1930. After a lifetime of seeking God and mentoring countless others through his books, and through correspondence, Joy Gresham came into his life.   According to Santamaria's biography Joy was not a very good woman.  But, that said, Santamaria goes on to reveal, "her spiritual journey culminated in Christianity.  Her human condition continued to be plagued with self-interest, even hypocrisy.  These failings however, did not nullify her faith, they reinforced the purpose of redemption."

Throughout Joy's life she was seeking Utopia and discovered that the only true utopia is Heaven.

I recommend the book.  Do you have any biographies you would recommend?

  1. I like the Judges video--easy to understand summary. Also I like Joy's discovery that utopia is Heaven.
