I was shocked when Donald Trump took South Carolina for the Republican presidential nomination. What were the people who voted thinking? I had no clue. In J.D. Vance's book "Hillbilly Elegy" there is some understanding of what has happened to our country. If you can get through all the foul language it is an interesting read.
