The title of this blog is
what a friend of mine would hear from her mother when, as a child, she would
ask her mother to buy things for her. To
me this is what God is saying to us when we believe in Jesus. When we come to a saving knowledge of the
Lord then we are adopted as joint heirs with Jesus. Then God will give us
all things. In the parable of the
prodigal son the father says to the older brother in Luke 15:31 “My son," the
father said, "you are always with me and everything I have is yours.”
In a sermon about Heaven one
pastor said that Jesus is preparing a wonderful room and meal for us like a
loving parent would prepare for their child coming home. To me this is what I desire—to be taken care
of in this way.
Another pastor said that in
Heaven we would all have jobs. I hadn’t
planned on working in Heaven-- just resting.
Well, if I have to have a job I want to be a ballerina! To me that would be fun. As a child I used to put on “shows.” Sometimes I would have the neighbor kids wear
my old dancing costumes and have everyone do a dance. One time I put on a play about “The mystery of the lost door knob.” My father and my grandfather ordered an
aluminum room that was all in parts to add to our trailer. All the parts were there except for the
doorknob. I don’t remember if we had to
buy another one or if the doorknob was found.
But whatever Heaven is like
it will be more wonderful than anything we can ask for or imagine!
We'll be in heaven with our new jobs sooner than we think : ) !!
