Absolutes

Absolutes do exist.  God has given us absolutes in the 10 Commandments. The world is under God. We know that God exists through His creation.  Man is without excuse. 

Next, these 10 Commandments are on what the laws in the United States are based. The world has lived by them when they have been made known, and people have chosen to be obedient to God.

Now the current struggle in our society has to do with all of the commandments, but the 5^th Commandment is extremely grievous because of what the Supreme Court has forced on our society.  The 5^th Commandment says that we are to honor our father and mother.  How then can a child living with 2 mothers or 2 fathers honor this Commandment? We must think about the children—each child needs a mother and a father.  It is a basis for the stability of society.  This is how God has designed the family and marriage.

We must admit that at present we don’t live in Roman times as some have claimed.  Many say that Christians can have no influence in society.  But we do live in a time, which enables Christians to have a voice in the public square.  We can pray, vote for, speak, write, and teach good things.  Keeping God’s laws will make life easier and more peaceful.  We have enough trials and tribulations in this life without making life harder by rebelling against God.

Unfortunately, I think that with the Supreme Court’s ruling on homosexual marriage, God has kindly given the U.S. over to the Devil so that the sinful nature will be destroyed--- I Corinthians 5:5.  I hope it is a good thing, as the government will have to get out of the churches and all Christian ministries.  Christians will have to pledge their lives and treasure to standing for God’s laws.  I expect to see more Christians going to prison in this country in my lifetime. 

I pray that Christians will tell the truth to society in love, and hold some back from destruction.  Jude 1:23.

News Quest

A few minutes for Dad to catch up on the news

I never thought I’d be a news junky. All the time I was growing up my dad read newspapers and watched news reports on TV.  I was never interested in current events until when, back in 1990, Dr. James Dobson, on a Focus on the Family radio program, said that Christians should be interested in our government.  Here’s why—

In I Timothy 2 the Bible says 1:”First of all, then I urge that entireties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.”

In addition to prayer, the Bible says in Ephesians 2: 10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

So, if we are aware of what is going on in our country, and if we pray, God may have some good works that He has prepared for us to do for Him and our country. One good work we can easily do is to vote.

Because of media bias there is a need to be informed about alternative views to the broadcast TV stations. I Once Wrote A letter To Elizabeth Elliot

December 21, 1926- June 15, 2015

Elizabeth Elliot has gone Home.  She left us this past week. I once wrote her a letter and asked her about the process to becoming a published writer.  She graciously answered me and gave me good advice.  I also asked her if she thought Abigail went behind her husbands’ back to do what was right in I Samuel 25:2-38.  I still have her letter and someday I will write about her answer.

I’ve decided that I have become transager—I started identifying with people who were 20 years older than me, and so I feel 20 years older than I am.  Therefore, I’m actually 91 years old!  Here is a woman who identifies herself as black even though she is white.  Would she be transracial?

Hang In There Baby!

Sometimes all the darkness that surrounds us on a regular basis gets to me.  But as they say it is "darkest before the dawn."  I liked this quote Ray Ortlund published on his blog today.  Click here to view. I think it says God's timing is perfect.  He will solve it all.  No worries!
